Good to be Grateful

This journey has been possible, even with its many

difficulties, because God has been present all along and

brought together persons that have given of their time and

talent in one way or another. Risking that my memory may

not have in it the names of all, I still want to mention those

that do come to my mind and ask anyone that I do not

mention to lovingly let me know it and I will gladly mention

their contribution.

These Lines of Gratitude, rather than attempting to name all

persons at once, will do so in a monthly basis, perhaps more

than once a month.

To start, I want to mention my parents, Rolando and

Mercedes Jaspe, who, even thinking I was crazy, backed me

up and found creative ways to offer help, like opening a

“Care Credit Account” for Veterinary needs that I could

simply not cover, sometimes also using their Home Depot

Credit Card to help finance the sanctuary area.

My parents and their sense of service were an inspiration to

me. Even though I went beyond what they thought was

reasonable, having them by my side in the early years of this

project was a source of security. They may not have been

100% with me, but they were always with me, and I thank God

for them in my life.
